In 1998, she was named as a National Living Treasure or a Gawad sa Manlilikha ng Bayan (GAMABA) Awardee. Her works were featured in an exhibit at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington , D.C. the same year as part of the Filipino Independence Centennial Celebration.
